Halloween Treats

I thought these would be great teacher gifts for Halloween since I am sure they get lots of candy and this would be just a tad bit different. With my coupon, and them being in the clearance area of Bath and Body Works, they were only 50 cents each. All product is StampinUp! except the ribbon - I had tons of satin ribbon and since I was making about 75 of these, it was the least expensive way of completing. I thought they came out cute and I hope the teachers enjoy getting hand sanitizer instead of candy.

Candy Treat Card Box

I saw this idea on Diane's For the Love of Stamping blog and just couldn't resist trying it myself. My brother-in-law Mike will get a hoot out of it - I made it especially for him using a retired StampinUp! Halloween set!

Here are the directions but you might want to watch the tutorial provided by Pockets of Inspiration.

Start with a piece of cardstock 6 1/2 by 12 3/4 in length. On the long end, score at 1/4", 1", 2 1/2", 3 1/4", 4 3/4" and 8 1/4". then turn and score both long sides at 3/4". Then cut from the "card" side cut the 3/4" tabs off up to the 3 1/4 point. Snip your tabs to make your box. Add adhesive to the 1/4" and fold over to make your box. Fill with candy and seal ends.

A dear friend of mine adopted a daughter from abroad and recently she told me she just received her daughter's citizenship. I have only met her daughter one time but I hear about her and feel like I know her. I wanted to send her a little something to commemorate this special event. So....my father left me some coins so I thought I would send her a commemorative Kennedy minted coin set from 1967. It is a little something from the good USA that she can hold on to and maybe she will look back at this time once she is older and realize what a gift citizenship is.

Celebrate National Stamping Month with Fall Leaves

I am hosting a National Stamping Month Celebration open house on Saturday, September 24th from 10:00 am. to 4:00 pm. Here is a sneak peek to a couple of the cards that will be created. This is a great way to start the holiday season and support the Lewis-Palmer Booster Club. You can make as many cards as you want - the cost is $5 for three cards or $10 for seven cards. All proceeds will go to the Lewis-Palmer Booster Club which is a parent organization supporting all of the school athletic teams and band.

Another Wedding - Love is in the Air!

Summer and Weddings - love is in the air! A good friend that I haven't seen in about 5 years invited us to her wedding. It was western (think Tombstone) and since I really didn't have any stamps that fit the part, I decided to go with yellow daisies. Low and behold, her bouquet was yellow daisies. I used the same card concept as my previous pink flower wedding card and then made a matching tag for the bottle of wine. It really added to the picture on the wine bottle and the signature of the estate bottler. Hope you are having a great week. Thanks for visiting.

The daughter of my husband's best friend just got married and unfortunately we were unable to travel to Wisconsin to attend the wedding. I understand her colors were pink and black so what better colors to work with in creating a wedding card. I took the picture before I added the congratulations stamp.

It is always nice to give a little something to all of the staff in the school office but that can add up to alot of money. I hit the jackpot at the dollar store. This beautiful note card packets I added to a matching pad of paper and a matching pen came to a total of $2.25 each. All I did was add a pretty ribbon and a card to match with a sentiment on the back. I was so happy with the results. Hope you enjoy too!

Graduation

A friend of my son's is graduating and I found myself disecting his announcement to create his graudation card. I cut out the seal and class of 2011 from the front of the announcement and then on the inside, used SU!'s Happy Graduation. The paper is a variety of scraps I had left over - the gold has a shimmer to it which really makes the card look regal.

Cubmaster Changes

Hi - the Cubmaster of Pack 67 in Monument, CO is moving on to Boy Scouts and, having worked with him in Scouting for the past five years or so, I just couldn't let it go without giving him a special gift. I was fortunate enough that they invited me back as an alumni of the Pack (my son already moved into Boy Scouts a year ago) so I got to present him with this card and a "blue" pen. And, behind every rock solid Cubmaster is the "Mrs. Cubmaster" so I put together this small box of some sweets. I used my new Box #3 from Sizzix and actually thought I would see if it really did work on acrylic so I cut the packaging up it came in and cut my box from it. I then put it through a SU! embossing sleve. It came out absolutely as I recalled from the Sizzix Lady's booth at the rubber stamps show in Colorado Springs. For those of you not familar with Cub Scouts, blue and gold are the Cub Scout colors so I just couldn't resist in putting a gold satin ribbon on it.

The card was made with a scrap from cub scounting scrapbook paper and my scouting embossing sleve.

Pretty in Pink

I wanted to create a card for my twin sister as our birthday is coming up on Valentines Day but I didn't want to use the traditional RED. We always receive cards with RED because we were born on Valentines Day so I wanted to switch it up a little and match a card to the black and white wrapping paper I used for her gift. The pink ribbon on the black and white stripped paper, accented with this card looked just perfect.

I was recently invited to attend the Eagle Court of Honor for one of my Tiger Cubs - it is hard to believe that I was his leader for five years and then he went onto Boy Scouts. Now he is an Eagle Scout. I was so moved that he would remember me and send me an invitation. Here is the card that I made for him to celebrate his accomplishments. I can't believe Halloween is just a couple weeks away. We are expecting our first snow this week and I am flying to CA on business. I hope it is good weather while flying. There is nothing worse than being on a plane and having bad weather. We had two lacrosse games and both were in the freezing cold. It rained and was really windy. I had my long underwear on and a wool coat with a blanket, hat and scarf and was still cold. Winter is HERE!!!

Thought you would enjoy this card - I got it at a swap and it wasn't signed but Ijust love it. It gives me a real creepy crawler feel!

Fall is in the Air

It is Fall in the air! We are having warm weather inthe morning but afternoons are gloomy! I can tell in no time we will have snow (boo hoo!). Here is a card I made the other night at my StampinUp! monthly meeting. It is made with an envelope that is sealed shut and the opposite end is cut open and a card is slipped into it. You then put the entire object in an envelope. The picture doesn't do it justice - I can say that because it isn't my design - thanks Danielle Henry for the design.

A Beautifu.Day

Well, summer is almost over. The trees are changing in our backyard. I can't believe Fall is here. Well, I can believe it because tomorrow I will be working at the Dime Toss all day at the elementary school Fall Festival. It is a great time and the kids really enjoy the festivities.

Todays card is from a "tester" image that I colored with Copics at Archievers. They were having a demo on the Copic markers. I just couldn't bare throwing it away so I used some scraps and this is what I came up with.

Here is the new StampinUp! emboss dies using the BigShot. I absolutely LOVE the way they look. You can make such an elegant card with little work.

We went to a wedding reception and I had lacrosse pick-up duty so I had to meet my husband there. I just couldn't wait to hear the response from the bride on the card. Unfortunately she was so overwhelmed in welcoming guests, she didnt' get a chance to see it until after we left. I hope she liked it as much as I enjoyed giving it.

Pin Cusion For Quilters

Cowabunga! I saw this sample at the Phil Long expo scrapbooking and stamping event in Colorado springs and I just couldn't resist. I purchased the stamp set and can't wait to get going on some samples of my own. This is a DeNami Design stamp.

I had a great time with my stamping friends from COS and Close to My Heart. I hadn't seen them in a long time and it was grand spending the day with them talking about stamps!

Wonderful You

Well, Roger and the boys have been gone a week tonight. I can't believe it. I miss them very much - the house is just too quiet. I have the laundry completely caught up, the house cleaned, the dirty dishes cleaned and have spent the day stamping. Guess that was the good part. Here is a card I made for one of the managers that I support, Ret. General Wes Clark. He had to have knee replacement surgery and has been having a rough time recuperating.

We have had very bad rain here - the lightening is about a mile away from our house. Bernard our dog hasn't left my side. He has been keeping me company the entire weekend. Have a good one - stop by again soon.

Well it has been way too long since I posted here - I thought I had better get on the stick and let you know what I have been up to lately. I am seeing a bunch of old stamps and supplies on ebay so check it out. Here is one of the fathers day cards I sent to the favorite men in my life. I am blessed to have a fantastic husband along with a great brother in law and his son in law not to mention some great friends. I hope you all had a great day.

Stampin Success

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a fantastic day. We are having beautiful sunny weather in Colorado Springs so I am very happy. I have to toot my own horn, as many of you know I am very involved with my boys and Boy Scouts and last night I received my Wood Badge beads. It has taken me 18 months to get to this level - I am so glad it is over. On top of this, I was notified by the Colorado Springs Catholic Committee on Scouting for Colorado Springs Diocese that I was nominiated for and received the Bronze Pelican Adult Religious Award. I was so excited when I opened the envelope - still don't know who nominiated me but I am extremly flattered and appreciate their recognition. After all, it is all about the children.

Now to business. I was reading my StampinUp! Success magagine and saw this card. The magazine regularly shows examples for us to try. This is such a pretty card and is extremely easy so the new stamper can make this and be successful.

Well it has been a very long time since I have posted. I spent the holidays in California with my twin sister and have been traveling to both coasts for "my other job". I now have my feet firmly planted and can't wait to get started stamping. I can't take credit for this card. Fall Leaves

Well, it is election night and there is really nothing on the TV other than election results. I decided to clean up my stamping room and take a shot at my first Thanksgiving card. I am starting to think about Fall and Thanksgiving. I know, alittle late but I had Halloween on the brain. Here is one of my first Thanksgiving cards. I had the oak gold leaf bangles for over a year now and didn't know how to use them so I thought I would try on a card.

Well Trick and Treating is over - I think we walked five miles. We then got up on Sat. and picked up $10,000 worth of Cub Scout Popcorn. Our garage was the distribution center for the Pack. Seems like we had popcorn everywhere.

I did get a little stamping in here and there. Here is a bookmark and gift card holder that I made for a friend. Unfortunately my photographic skills aren't the best. I used a subway gift card so you could get the idea of where to place the card.

Well, it is finally Friday. I haven't been able to stamp much with the boys in Lacrosse. Christopher will be in the championship game tomorrow for outdoor lacrosse. We then start indoor but that is a little more reasonable, only 2 days a week.

Wow, what a terrific sunny day for Fall here in ColoradoSprings. I just can't believe it is so beautiful. Christopher's lacrosse team won the playoffs so next Saturday is the championship game. He is playong on a 4th, 5th & 6th grade team so being the smallest, and youngest, is something to be reckoned with.

Here are a couple of cards I put together within about 10 minutes. We were going to a couple open houses and I wanted the card to match the wrapping paper. Not much stamping but they turned out really pretty sitting next to the gift wrapped in the same paper. You can't realy tell by the picture but the yellow and red flowers are raised. I cut the wrapping paper out and glued it on cardstock for sturdiness.

Halloween Treat Bag and candy boxes. I used clear boxes from www.clearbags.com which I absolutely love. I have them in almost every size. The treatbag is a small white bag that come in a package of 16. They come in all colors. I got mine at Wal-mart. Party-City also has them in about 10 different colors.

Its Sunday and it is starting to feel like Fall here in Colorado Springs. It is one of those days that you just want to stay inside and stamp.
